High and Mighty, the market leader in big and tall clothing, is making a big comeback in Brighton with its new Queens Road store, opening on 26 March. Following an acquisition by JD Williams in September 2009, High and Mighty stores will benefit from a £1million refurbishment. A new Spring/Summer catalogue will also be launched to make home shopping easier.
It’s great news for Brighton shoppers looking for larger sizes of fashionable menswear, after High and Mighty’s main competitor, Big & Tall on Nile Street, is due to close down this year.
At 2,200 square feet, the new store is four times bigger than the current North St location. With a brand new design and layout, the store will have a clearer, more open feel, without losing the personal touch.
Unlike other retailers, who rarely cater for larger sizes and usually have a ‘self service’ ethos, personal shopping is key to the High and Mighty experience. By providing a welcoming, comfortable space for people looking for larger sizes of menswear, the in-store team provides a personalised service for every customer. Store manager Robert Wheeler is proud of the fact that he is on first name terms with many customers.
An array of well known brands will be on offer, alongside High and Mighty’s own range of products. Brands include Polo Ralph Lauren, Ben Sherman, Animal, Umbro and Jockey. The Raging Bull range, designed by rugby legend Phil Vickery, will also be available.
As well as casual and formal clothing, the store will offer a made to measure service, wedding hire and eco-friendly dry cleaning.
The Brighton store has seen a host of local celebrities looking for fashionable menswear, including Chris Eubank and Phill Jupitus

The new High and Mighty store will be at 132 Queen’s Road, Brighton, opposite the Clock Tower. Opening times are: Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri, Sat: 10:00 – 18:00, Thu: 10:00 – 19:00 and Sun 11:00 – 17:00.
